Bluntisham's under-9s finish season with trophy!

Bluntisham Cricket Club's under-9s claim some silverware in what was a very successful season.

After finishing top of the 6-a-side Softball Group E with five wins and just one loss to their name, the team advanced to the Hunts & Peterborough Finals Day at Peterborough Town Cricket Club.

A loss against a very impressive Peterborough side in the semifinals meant the team competed for the Plate Cup.

Despite the disappointment of losing, the team put it behind them and won their next two matches against both Huntingdon and Eaton Socon to secure the Plate Cup and a bronze medal for finishing third overall in this seasons Hunts County Youth League.

Coach Stuart Boon was delighted: "It was a great first full season and the 11 players who were part of the team should all be very proud of how they've played this season."

Batsman of the Year with an average of 15.8 was Jenson Dolby with Harrison Boon winning the Bowler of the Year award after picking up 10 wickets at an average of 7.6.

Bluntisham CC would also like to place on record our thanks to Highlands of Bluntisham for sponsoring the team this season.
