Bluntisham CC 1st team's 2019 season and hunt for consecutive promotions gets underway at Bluntisham Park against Yelling CC 1st team on Saturday the 4th of May.
Last night Bluntisham Cricket Club attended the Cambridge Business House League AGM in order to organise their 2019 midweek fixtures.
We can now confirm all of the 2019 fixtures for senior teams at the club.
The first team start their campaign against Yelling CC 1st XI who won promotion to Senior 3 via the CCA Junior League 1 South last season, where they finished third.
Both Bluntisham CC and Sawston & Babraham CC won their respective North and South Junior divisions last season, so therefore, will meet in a Junior division play off. This is to be played at Sawston & Babraham on July 20th, but points will also be awarded as part of the 2019 Senior 3 Division season.
The second team get their season underway, also looking for consecutive promotions, at Longstanton Grasshoppers CC 2nd team. Blunty 2s were crowned champions of Junior 4 North last season and start this campaign against a local side who finished mid-table in the CCA Junior League 3 North last season.
Both teams finish the season on the 31st of August, the first team at Cottenham CC 1st XI and the second team at Bluntisham Park against Little Downham CC 2nd XI.
On the look out for their third league title in a row, Bluntisham's Midweek XI are now participating in the Cambridge Business House League Division 2. They open up against Bottisham-Lode Midweek XI on Tuesday the 21st of May and finish versus ARM Ltd. CC, at Bluntisham Park on Thursday the 27th of June.
The cricket club missed out on the quadruple last season, as they were defeated by Coton CC 1st XI in the CCA Junior Cup final at the Spicers Ground. This season, ensuring players from both the first and second team could participate, the Bluntisham CC 1st XI entered the CCA Invitation Cup.
With only eight teams in the competition, Bluntisham will be hoping they can return to the Spicers Ground once again this year, but hopefully with happier memories. They start in the quarter finals at Barrington CC 1st XI.
