Mick George Ltd yesterday announced that we, Bluntisham Cricket Club have been successful in application for funding of a dual lane, all weather, net facility to be built ahead of the 2018 season. This allows us to improve as a cricket club and provide a foundation for young people to get actively involved in the game. As you can imagine the club are thrilled by this news, and no one more so than club president Geoff Curtis, who wrote this statement:
"The club is delighted beyond measure to have received confirmation of funding by Mick George for our new twin lane all weather practice facility. To receive support from a company of the stature of Mick George is a huge accolade for the club and this will now provide the foundation for BCC to become a centre of excellence for cricket in the area.
The benefit will reach far beyond the club as the new facility will be made available to surrounding communities and schools at all levels.
We will be able to have the nets operational for 2018 pre-season training and this will enable us to consolidate a growing junior team, both boys and girls, which will secure the future of the club."
We will update you all with any further information regarding the scheme, meanwhile we look forward to our association with Mick George and to the continued support of all members.
